May Day 2015

Image
There's always something so delightful about welcoming the month of May with this tradition of delivering flowers to a few neighbors while trying not to get caught in the act.  Because our kids have such different start times, we delivered flowers tonight on April 30th on the night before May Day to help our neighbors get in the spirit for tomorrow.   run, run, RUN!!! May Day 2014...  sneaky little May Day delivery girl  running down 17th Ave...  RUN!!!!  Happy May Day 2013!!!  May Day Flower Cone Factory  sneaky May Day deliveries before school trying not to get caught never gets old...  Run, run, as fast as you can!!  a quick May Pole celebration on the Hestad's tether ball pole...  Thanks to Jaime for putting on some fun music, the kids got into the fun...  May pole video below from 2103:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1vHdc7kHeE all

Alleluia Ribbons

Image
We dug up our Alleluia ribbons on Sunday, and they added color and joy to the afternoon.  So sweet to have the gift of Easter to give us reason to sing "ALLELUIA!" and to "unbury" that word that has been hidden from sight during Lent... pulling the Alleluia ribbons out of the bag that were buried in our garden for the last 40+ days  We are Easter people and Alleluia is our song!

wearing forgiveness like a crown

Our crown of thorns that we began at the start of Lent  turned into a crown of glory this morning for Easter!!  Every Easter with this tradition, the words from the song "At the Foot of the Cross" come to mind:  Trade these ashes in for beauty And wear forgiveness like a crown Coming to kiss the feet of mercy I lay every burden down at the foot of the cross
